Prior to the MLB Draft
Truitt Madonna had a notably impactful stint with the Frederick Keys in the 2025 MLB Draft League. He slashed .279/.360/.512, logging an impressive .872 OPS, and his two home runs tied him for the most among high school-born players in the league. Beyond the numbers, Madonna showcased impressive pop: his Hard-Hit Percentage was
46.2%, ranking second among catchers and fourth across the entire league. He also delivered when it counted—delivering powerful, clutch hits, including multiple sudden-death walk-off hits to lift the Keys to dramatic victories.

In short, Madonna’s blend of hitting consistency, offensive power, and late-game heroics made him one of the premier high school bats in the Draft League's first half.

Draft and Signing
Truitt Madonna, a 6'3", 215-lb catcher from Ballard High School (Seattle, WA), was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 11th round, 340th overall, of the 2025 MLB Draft. He had committed to UCLA but chose to sign pro with the Padres after the draft.

Initial Assignments
On July 24, 2025, he was officially signed by the Padres and assigned to their Rookie-level ACL Padres. He was activated with that squad on August 4.

Midseason Rankings
By mid-August, MLB Pipeline had ranked Madonna as the Padres’ No. 25 prospect among their Top-30. His inclusion illustrates the club's faith in his potential, especially considering he was an 11th-round pick.

Call-Up to Lake Elsinore Storm (Single-A)
On August 19, 2025, Madonna received his assignment to the Lake Elsinore Storm (High Single-A affiliate) following his ACL performance. In his debut for the Storm, he made an immediate impact—going 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI, providing a standout performance behind the plate.

Summary
From being a promising high school catcher and UCLA commit, to being drafted in the 11th round, Truitt Madonna quickly navigated the Padres’ minor league ladder—from the Draft League and ACL, to High-A—earning a ranking as a Top-30 prospect and delivering a strong debut for the Lake Elsinore Storm.
